Jennifer has extensive experience across a range of difficulties with communication, in both metropolitan and regional clinical settings. This has included acute hospital and adult rehabilitation public health providers.

Prior to commencing in private practice Jennifer’s experience also included working in community health with multidisciplinary teams and the broader community. Jennifer worked with the Specialist Autism assessment team at the Royal Children’s Hospital, ex-Travancore, Mental Health service for 14 years. With this experience Jennifer continues to provide Speech Pathology assessment as part of multidisciplinary Autism assessments in her private practice. This is in collaboration with a number of community based private providers, both Psychologists and Paediatricians.

In recent decades, Jennifer has restricted her practice to focusing on the Paediatric population with extensive experience, and interest in, the early years of a child’s life, particularly preschool and early primary. The importance of this time in human development and particularly communication development is well documented (Florida State University First Words project, ELVS project- MCRI) and informs Jennifer’s work.

Jennifer has a love of language and communication and this inspires her family focused, evidence based collaborative approach in diagnosing and working with children with a range of concerns including late talkers, developmental / global delay as well as speech and language difficulties and disorder. Jennifer also works with children and their families to build understanding of social communication and the challenges faced when someone has a different (or neurodivergent) communication developmental style. This is also known as pragmatic language difficulty, very commonly identified with autistic people.

Jennifer’s aim in engaging with any family is to assist functional communication enhancement and skills development for all involved.

Jennifer engages in ongoing professional development to be eligible for the post nominal – Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia, the peak professional body.

Jennifer is registered with Medicare. She is not registered with NDIS but accepts cases that are self-managed.

Jennifer has limited availability from August 2024. For information about availability and any further enquiries, please contact Jennifer directly.
